Eight Precepts Retreat

To give lay devotees the opportunity to experience life in the monastery, planting the seed of renunciation through upholding the Eight Precepts for one day and one night.
Participants must be male or female lay devotees that have right understanding and right beliefs on Buddhism and willing to uphold the precepts. Participants are required to stay for the full retreat and must observe noble silence and don’t use the mobile phone throughout.
Age : Between 16 and 80
You are welcome to make a donation for the vegetarian meals.
Precepts Conferring, Sutra Study, Meditation, Buddhist Chanting etc. (All classes will be held in Chinese with English interpretation)
a) Please wear the grey practitioners outfit if you have one. For those who do not have one, please wear plain, neutral coloured clothing.
b) All participants must have the black ‘Hai Qing’ robe. For those that have taken the five precepts, please bring your brown precepts robe. (Participants that do not have the black robe will need to purchase one)

a) Due to the size of the venue, we are unable to offer overnight accommodation.
b) Please do not wear any jewellery or bring any valuables with you or wear any make-up.
c) Please wear warm clothing and flat shoes. (Arhat shoes, trainers or any shoes that do not make sounds are preferable.)
